Dorothy L. Buchanan Spencer, 91 of McConnelsville, died on Weds, Aug. 10, 2016 surrounded by her family at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born on May 27, 1925 in McConnelsville to the late Homer and Georgia Osborn Buchanan. She retired from Cleveland Graphite Bronze (Imperial Cleveite) in McConnelsville. She attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in McConnelsville. She was a member of the Beach Grove Grange and American Legion Post # 24 Ladies Aux. She also loved to quilt. She is survived by 1 son, Gary and Connie Spencer of McConnelsville, 4 daughters, Pat and Dave Bailey, Sandra Coudill, Marlene Bolyard and Jean and Joie McDonald all of McConnelsville, 2 brothers Herb and Donnie Buchanan both of McConnelsville, 1 sister, Jeannette Demster of McConnelsville, 11 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and several step grand and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd D. Spencer, son Rodney Spencer and a grandson Gary Allen Spencer. Services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Pastor Russ Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the McConnelsville Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Monday, Aug. 15, from 4-7 P.M. In Lieu of flowers donations my be made to the M&M Fire Dept.
