Douglas Ray Roberts, 71, of Stockport, passed away on Weds. November 8, 2017 at the Riverside Landing Nursing Home in McConnelsville. He was born on Jan. 21, 1948 in McConnelsville, Ohio to the late Chester and Evelyn Patterson Roberts. He worked for over 40 years as a Boiler Maker out of Union Hall 105 in Piketon, Ohio. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church in McConnelsville, Beverly American Legion Post #389, Eagles #2187 in McConnelsville, Webb Lodge #252 of Stockport and the Morgan County Shrine Club. He is survived by his Wife of 51 years Barbara Webb Roberts of the Home, a daughter, Wendi (Garth) Dexter of Liberty Township, Ohio, 2 sisters, Naomi Gates of Zanesville and Margaret Spiker of Zanesville, 4 grandchildren, Cole, Riley, Kendall and Owen, and special friends, John Foreman, Phil Childs and Barry Fouss. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Clifford Roberts and a foster brother, Dwayne Jones. Services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017 at 12:30 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. Friends may call on the family from 9:30-12:30 P.M. on the day of the services.
