Duane I. Maxwell, 82, of Malta, passed away on Thurs, Dec. 22, 2022.  He was born on July 23, 1940 in Malta, Ohio to the Late Marcus and Claire Aler Maxwell.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and stayed in the military until his retirement.  He was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church in New Lexington.  He is survived by 5 sons, Jason Lee Maxwell of Cal, Ed Masterson of Malta, John David Maxwell of Minneapolis, Dr. Donald Maxwell of Phoenix and David Maxwell of Arizona, 3 daughters, Kathy Woodrum of Westerville, Susan Maxwell of Cambridge and Margaret Maxwell of Dayton, a sister, Rilla Morris of Perrysville, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Rita Brown Maxwell, 4 sons, Bernard, Stephen, Darren and Jeff Maxwell and 3 daughters, Catherine Weaver, Anna Maxwell and Elizabeth Dorris.  A graveside service will be held on Thurs, Dec. 29, 2022 at 12:00 P.M.
