Dwayne W. "Bear" Chordas, 51, of Pennsville, died on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Cleveland Clinic Hospital. He was born on Dec. 7, 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland to Bob L. and Lucy Thomas Chordas. He was the Transportation Director for the Morgan Local School System in McConnelsville. He was a member of the Pennsville Volunteer Fire Dept, past president and vice president of OAPSE Local #51 and he loved coaching track, Hunting, Fishing and his Harley. He is survived by his mother Lucy Chordas of Churubusco, IN, wife Laura Brooks Chordas of the home, 1 daughter, Jennifer Chordas of the home, 1 brother, Don Chordas of Churubusco, IN, in-laws, Jim and Glenna Brooks of Newark, brother-in-law, Doug (Robin) Brooks of Athens and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father. Services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Pastor Roger Calendine officiating. Burial will follow in the Pennsville Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Weds. June 4, 2014 from 5-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pennsville Vol. Fire Dept. or Morgan Jr. High Track.
