Obituary

Earl D. Hite, 69, of McConnelsville, died Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 12:07 P.M. at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born on April 29, 1941 in Portland, Ohio to the late Rufus and Eithel Baker Hite. He retired from the Morgan Local School District after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Neelysville Church of Christ, Valley Masonic Lodge in Malta, and the American Legion Post # 24 in McConnelsville. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Marshall Hite of the home, one son, Steven Hite of Dayton, Nevada, one daughter, Heidi Hite of Red Bluff, California, one step-son, Chuck Kuhn of McConnelsville, one step-daughter, Rhonda Applegate of Milford, three sisters, Audis Herdman of Columbus, Loretta Hite of McConnelsville, and Jessie Zarlingo of North Canton, and six grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lovell and Carson, four step-brothers, Robert, Edward, James, and John, and two sisters, Betty and Shirley. Services will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with Pastor Galen Finley and Chuck Kuhn officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at the Malta Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. with Masonic services following at 8 P.M.
