Edith Irene Wright, 89 of Malta, Died, on Monday, February 14, 2011, at 10:20p.m. at the Main Street Terrace Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on February 17, 1921 in Malta Ohio to the late Fred V. and Carrie M. Strahl Davis. She was a homemaker, a Malta Township clerk for over 31 years and the former president of the Malta Savings and Loan. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville, the Bishopville Church of Christ, and a Charter member of the Chesterhill Church of Christ. She is survived by three sons, Wayne (Martha) Wright of Sylmar, California, David (Kim) Wright of Columbus, Indiana, and John (Martha) Wright of Glouster, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wilbur W. Wright, one brother, Robert Davis, and two sisters, Freda Johnson and Doris Cotton. Services will be held on Friday, February 18, 2011 at 1:00p.m. at the Main Street Church of Christ in McConnelsville with Evang. John Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Malta Union Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Thursday, February 17, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville and one hour prior to the services at the church.
