Obituary

Eileen McNabb Haines, 88, of McConnelsville, went to be with her Heavenly Host at 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville.

Eileen was born January 20, 1927, in Reinersville, to the late Paul B. McNabb and Rea McKee McNabb.

At the age of three months, they moved to Sharon Township, Noble County, and remained there until she finished high school. After school, she got a job in Caldwell, at Balls Supermarket where she worked until she married F. E. "Gene" Haines on April 4, 1953. After marriage, she was wife, homemaker and helped with many of the family businesses including scale master of Industrial Stone. She also did clerking at auctions and ran the concession stand at tractor and horse pulls. She was a 50-plus-year member of the Never Silent Club, 4-H adviser, and Cub Scout den mother. Eileen was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church in McConnelsville, where she was treasurer for 20 years. She loved reading, sewing and helping others.

She is survived by three children, Ed (Sandy) Haines of Malta, Susan (Larry) Alderman of McConnelsville, and Charlotte (Ron) Ullman of Stoutsville; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren, which the last of was born only eight days before her death.

* In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Gene Haines on November 4, 2013; and a brother, Richard, in 2011.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at the First Presbyterian Church in McConnelsville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at the First Presbyterian Church in McConnelsville with Pastor Barbara Morrison officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband in McConnelsville Cemetery.
