Eleanor Jean Kuntz 87, of Malta passed away at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born April 7, 1930 in Morgan County the daughter of the late, Earl McElfresh and Bessie Walker McElfresh. She grew up in Morgan County and graduated from M&M High School in 1947. She moved to Zanesville and married the late, John A. Barker, worked at Essex Wire, and they had three children. They moved to Michigan and lived there until 1974 when she returned to Malta and married her second husband, Dana L. Kuntz, who survives and  they were married 43 years. She also worked at Morgan County Care Center in McConnelsville for 26 years. In addition to her husband, Dana she is survived by her three children; John S. (Crystal) Barker of Ray, Ohio, Rebecca J. Day of Cincinnati and Robert E. (Donna) Barker of Zanesville; four step children, Debra Kuntz of Cleveland, Danny Kuntz of Maine, Frank Kuntz of Cleveland, and Lela Kuntz of New Hampshire; two sisters,Ellen Propp of Zanesville and Esther Lawrence of Columbus; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where services will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Phil Walker officiating.
