Ella Ruth Smith, 84, of Canton, died on Monday, Sept. 2, 2013 at her residence. She was born on November 28, 1928 in Belpre to the late Willard and Martha Male Ransom. She was a homemaker and a member of the Canton Apostolic Holiness Church. She is survived by 2 sons, Mark Smith of Bolivar and Vinton Smith of North Canton, 1 daughter, Patricia Jackson of Canton, 1 brother, Wayne Ransom of Columbus, 2 sisters, Peg Minerd of Belpre and Marianne Jackson of Canton, 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Vinton Smith Jr., 2 brothers, Arthur and Raymond Ransom and 1 sister Naomi Smith. Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013 at 12:30 P.M. at the Mt. Hermon Church near Amesville with Pastor J.R. Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
