Obituary

Elvin L. Nichols 80, of 141 S. St Rt 78 S.W. Malta passed away at 4:47 p.m. Friday, November 25, 2011 at the Morrison House Hospice in Zanesville.He was born April 23, 1931 in Trimble, Ohio the son of the late John Nichols and Gladys Armstrong Nichols.

He was a Maintenence Supervisor for Morgan Local Schools for 20 years and also a master mechanic, and insurance adjuster. He was a member of the Wolf Creek Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife Mary Fitch Nichols whom he married on July 8, 1950: two sons Steve (Linda) Nichols and Chris (Regina) Nichols both of Malta; four grandchildren April Nichols, Shane Nichols, Joei (Daniel) Waite and Jake (Jatina) Nichols; also survived by five great-grandchildren, Tanner, Clayton, Cody, D.J. and Dalton; one brother Charles Nichols of Malta; and mother-in-law Yuanita Fitch of McConnelsville.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Paul Nichols and Jack Nichols; five sisters Barbara Chappelear, Dortha Pedicord, Ruth Carter, Nelva Kasler and Vashti Stephenson; and one great grandson Jacob Lane Nichols.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville . Funeral services will be held at 11 :00 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the Wolf Creek Church of Christ with Harmon Thomas and Richard Ross officiating. Burial will follow in the Wolf Creek Cemetery.
