Erma M. Clifton, 89, of Zanesville, formerly of McConnelsville, passed away on Weds, Sept. 29, 2021 at the Alter Care Nursing Center in Zanesville.  She was born on Nov. 13, 1931 in Avondale, Ohio to the late Arthur and Susie McKnight Mix.  She was a homemaker that loved raising her daughter and was a member of the LifeWay Church in South Zanesville.  She is survived by her daughter, Rose (Joe) Updegrave of Zanesville,  a sister, Ruth Moyer of Indiana, 2 grandchildren, Cody (Lauren) and Madison and 3 great grandchildren, Winston, Lawson and Coen.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Clifton, 1 brother and a sister.  Services will be held on Monday, Oct. 4, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at the LifeWay Church at 2450 Maysville Pike in Zanesville with burial following in the McConnelsville Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the services.  Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
