Ernie E. Ellis, 78, of 5290 Johnson Ridge Rd., Waterford, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at his home.

He was born April 13, 1932, in Morgan County, a son of the late Vanis and Sylvia Morris Ellis.

Mr. Ellis retired from Mark Rest Center after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Neelyville Grange and the National Rifle Association. He loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by his widow, Marilyn McPeek Ellis, whom he married on March 29, 1970; three daughters, Kathy Moore of McConnelsville, Loydena Zimmerman of Leheigh Acres, FL, and Latresha Fuchs of Kent, OH; three sons, Paul Ellis of McConnelsville, Darren Ellis of Chesterhill, and Brandon Ellis of San Jacinto, CA; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Donahue of Waterford; and one brother, Roy Ellis of Waterford.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Johnson and Nancy Chandler.

There will be no service or calling hours. A caring cremation will take place.
