Everett E. Walker, 99 of Stewart, passed away on Sun. March 12, 2017 at the Kimes Nursing Home in Athens. He was born on May 13, 1917 in Stewart to the late James and Hattie Holbert Walker. He worked as a Coal Miner and then retired as a Mechanic from the Athens County Highway Dept. He was a devoted member of the Kilvert Church of God. He is survived by 2 sons, Leroy Walker of Columbus and Raymond Walker of Sardis, 2 daughters, Elnore Walker of Stewart and Elizabeth Tabler of Zanesville, several Grandchildren, great grand and great great grandchildren and his special care givers. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, Garnet Tabler Walker, 2nd wife, Helen Coe Walker, 2 sons, James and Roger Walker and a daughter, Barbara Goins. Services will be held on Thurs. March 16, at 11:00 A.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Weds. March 15 from 5-8 P.M.
