Fern Dingus Tanthorey, 71 of Marietta, died on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 9:51A.M. at the Selby General Hospital in Marietta. She was born on May 23, 1939 in Five Points, Ohio to the late Fred and Alice McCoy Dingus. She was a homemaker and a member of the Cutler Mission Church in Cutler. She is survived by one son Yancey Tanthorey of Stockport, one daughter, Bridgette Wilmuth of Parkersburg, one brother, Tom Dingus of Sunbury, two sisters, Goldie Dingus of Five Points, and Maggie Ford of Bradenton, Florida, six grandchildren, and a special friend, Beulah Spencer. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Dewey Tanthorey, four brothers, Alfred, Glenn, Willie and James Dingus, and two sisters, Mary Dingus and Evelyn Fry. Services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following at the Mt Hermon Cemetery. Friends may call on the family from 9-11 A.M. on the day of the funeral.
