McCONNELSVILLE - Florence E. Hook, 75, of Ohio 78, McConnelsville, went to be with our Lord at 1:20 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at her daughters' residences after a battle with cancer. She was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Snowden Township, Pa., a daughter of the late Edward and Florence Fellabaum. Mrs. Hook was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended Reinersville United Methodist Church, worked at Malta Windows, was a former Cubmaster of Pack 288, and enjoyed crocheting, bingo and, most of all, her family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Andy Hook Sr., of McConnelsville, whom she married Oct. 20, 1956, in Powhatan Point; three daughters, Irene Claypoole of Malta and Anna (Dale) Rowland and Karen (Jeff) Moody of McConnelsville; one son, Andy (Mandy) Hook of McConnelsville; six grandchildren, Melody Hook, Amanda Gardner (Neil Connell), Brittany (Ruty) Campbell, D.L. (Kim) Claypoole, Tyler Hook and Katie Hook; two great-grandchildren, Angel and Joel Claypoole; one twin brother, Edward Fellabaum of Clarinton; and one sister, Joyce Bates of Orlando, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Faye; two sisters, June Lanning and Sally Day; and three brothers, Paul, Malcolm and Walter Blane Fellabaum. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 17, at the Matheney Funeral Home. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at the funeral home, with Pastor Tim Van Horn officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the M&M EMS or to the Stecker Cancer Center at Marietta Memorial in Marietta.
