Floyd D. Chappelear 76, of Malta , passed away at 2:30 a.m. November 26, 2018 at his home. He was born April 30, 1942 in Columbus the son of the late Leslie Chappelear and Bernice Beard Chappelear. He was a retired evangelist for the Church of Christ for 53 years, and a member of the Wolf Creek Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Judy L. Stalzer Chappelear whom he married November 18, 1963; daughter, Meredith (David) Stone of Herndon, Va and a son, Kenneth Chappelear of Bowie, Md.; eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by  three sisters; Bertha Mae Vanhoose, Marie Stemm and Maxine Campbell, and a brother, Sheldon Chappelear. Friends may call 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where services will be held at 1:00p.m. with Harmon Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in East Branch cemetery near Burr Oak.
