Frances M. Cranford, 78, of Malta, passed away on Tues, Nov. 1, 2022 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville.  She was born on Nov. 19, 1943 in Malta, Ohio to the late Edgar and Jeanne Starrett Wise.  After high school she worked as a medical aide in Portersville and then left Ohio and moved to Capital Heights Maryland and worked at Boling Air Force Base and worked as a nursery Assistant.  Coming home to Morgan County she worked for 29 years as a night time dispatcher for the Morgan County Sherriff's Office.  She was a member of the Cross Roads Christian Fellowship in Malta and the Republican Women's Club where she was a past president.  She loved to cook, bake, make fudge and share recipe's.   She is survived by 3 brothers, Kenneth (Sue) Wise of Lancaster, Larry (Peggy) Wise of McConnelsville and Dean (Beth) Wise of Deavertown, 2 sisters, Kathy Hubatka of Ft Walton Beach, Fl and Bonnie Marshall of Malta. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Edgar and Daniel Wise.  Services will be held on Thurs, Nov. 3, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at the Matheney Funeral home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Zion Cemetery in Portersville.  Friends may call on the family from 10-12 P.M. on the day of the services.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
