Frances L. Nicely 80 of McConnelsville passed away at 4 :15 p.m. Dec. 15, 2015 at Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville. She was born August 22, 1935 in Rand, West Virginia the daughter of the late Jennings Groah and Marie York Groah. She worked at DHL and was a former member of Mt. Olivet Church near Stockport. She is survived by children Nancy Mercer of Parkersburg, W.Va., Susan Barnhouse of McConnelsville, Gary Oliver of Florence , Ky. Doug Oliver of Beverly, and Donald Oliver of McConnelsville, nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, sisters Rosie Dailey of McConnelsville and Shirley Rowland of Burlington, New Jersey, brothers David Groah of Stockport and Jerry Groah of Mims, Florida. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jess Nicely who died July 31, 2000. A memorial graveside service will be held at a later date at Mt. Olivet Cemetery near Stockport. Memorial contribution may be made to MOCO Team Blue, C/O Ginnys Flower Shoppe in McConnelsville.
