Francis L. Maxwell, 75, of Malta, passed away at 7:40 p.m. Wednesday July 11,2012 at the Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.

He was born December 14,1936 in Malta, a son of the late Stella and Tony Bacanis and Edgar Maxwell.

Francis retired from Glacier-Clevite after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Main Street Church Of Christ in McConnelsville. Francis enjoyed bird watching and gardening, but his greatest joy was his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Irene Theis Maxwell, whom he married on August 4, 1957.

He also leaves behind five daughters, LeaAnne (Denver) Keirns of Millfield, Vanessa (Trent) McDaniel of Malta, Gay Maxwell of McConnelsville, Nancy (Don) Sherburn of Zanesville, and Jenny (Brad) Sampson of Waterford. He is also survived by a brother, Ken (Fern) Maxwell of Burkburnett, TX.

Francis will be lovingly remembered by his 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, as well as special extended family members whom he held dear.

In addition to his mother, father, and step-father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Willard Maxwell.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, July 15, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, with ministers Zach Waite and Rex McDonald officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Morgan County Veterans.

After the service, a caring cremation will take place.
