Obituary

STOCKPORT - Frank "Hank" R. Faires, age 92, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at his residence. He was born September 28, 1916 in Stockport to his Father, Harry D. Faires and his Mother Eltha Walker Faires He worked for his father and grandfather in the Walker & Faires Meat Market, and retired in 1980 as Post Master from U.S Post Office where he had once received postmaster of the year. He Graduated from Windsor High School in 1933, and was a WWII Army Veteran. He was a member of Stockport United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday school superintendent and teacher, charter member of the Stockport Vol. Fire Dept. and 1st Chief, 70 year member and past master of Webb Lodge 252 F&AM, past president Morgan county Shrine Club, past master Aladdin Temple Shrine, Valley of Cambridge Scottish Rite, Past president of the Windsor Alumni Ass., National League of Postmasters, Morgan County School Board, American Legion Post 24 McConnelsville and Post 389 in Beverly, and was an avid sports fan Survived by wife, Mary R. Griffith Faires of Stockport; three daughters, Lucile Crist of Tucson Ar., Becky Cooley and Susie Hutchinson both of Stockport; five grandchildren, Craig, Mark, Stacy, Erik, and Scott; three great grandchildren, Katelyn, Aiden, and Xander. Preceded in death by parents; two brothers, Wilfred "Woody" Faires, and James "Ned" Faires; and one sister, Helen B. Faires. Service will be Monday, April 6, 2009 at 1:00p.m. in Stockport United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Interment will take place in Stockport Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday, April 5, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-8:30p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services on Sunday, April 5, at 8:30p.m. In Lieu of Flowers, Donation to the Stockport Vol. Fire Dept., Stockport United Methodist Church, or Webb Lodge.
