Frieda M. Scott, 93, of McConnelsville, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the Riverside Landing Nursing Home in McConnelsville.  She was born on Sept. 22, 1930 in Marietta, Ohio to the late Chester and Mary Shilling Newburn.  She was a member of the American Legion Post #24 Ladies Aux. in McConnelsville and the VFW post #4713 Ladies Aux in Malta.  She is survived by her son, Tony Scott of New Lexington, a daughter, Linda Woodyard of Reynoldsburg, a granddaughter, Victoria Scott and 2 great grandchildren Noah and Eva Frazier.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carlos Scott, a son Terry Scott and a brother, Curtis Newburn. Services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Stockport cemetery.  Friends may call on the family 1 hour prior to the services.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
