Georgia L. Pitz, 74, of Stockport, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.

She was born May 8, 1939, in Rootstown, to the late Howard Cummins and Zona Hartleben Cummins Gillard.

Mrs. Pitz was a homemaker and was a member of the St. James Catholic Church in McConnelsville.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Mathias Pitz; a daughter, Susezette (Eugene) Mayfield of Stockport; three grandchildren, Brandy (Mark) Hines of Amesville, Jonathan Sitzes and Amanda Sitzes, both of Stockport; three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Madison, and William Hines all of Amesville; five sisters, Mary Uhlman and Chuck Davis of Fruitland Park, FL, Rita (Ken) Baker of Hesteria, CA, Ruth Gillespie, Clara Gillard, and Wendy (Billy) Waite, all of Stockport; a brother, John (Toni) Gillard of Marietta.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the St. James Catholic Church in McConnelsville with Father Paul Walker officiating.

She will be laid to rest in Tabor Cemetery, near Stockport.
