Gerald E. Roberts 77, of 160 Gene Roberts Lane Malta passed away at 6 :10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born March 25, 1933 in McConnelsville to the late Wilbur R. Roberts and Grace Chappelear Roberts . He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operators and Engineers Local # 18 in Columbus and served in the Army for two years.He also attended the Hemlock Community Church in Hemlock. Surviving are one daughter Barbara Jungling of Thornville, two sons Steve E. Roberts of Malta and Jason Roberts of McConnelsville: three grandchildren and one great grandchild, sister Maxine Miller of South Daytona, Florida; close family friend Dottie Corp.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death be his wife Alice Potts Roberts who died Nov. 19, 2001 and one grandson Clint Roberts. At his request there will be no calling hours or services. Burial will take place at a later date in the Malta Cemetery.Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pennsville Volunteer Fire Dept or the Hemlock CommunityChurch.Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville is in charge of arrangements.
