Gerald "Jerry" A. White Sr., 82 of Malta died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at 8:51A.M. at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born on January 6, 1928 in Norwich, Ohio to the late Russell and Ethel Taylor White. He retired from the Gould Corporation in McConnelsville. He was a member of the Malta United Methodist Church, a life time member of VFW Post 4713 in Malta, DAV, MOC, 40ET8, American Legion Post 24 in McConnelsville, President of the Veterans Service Commission, Past Master of Valley Lodge 145 F&AM in Malta, OES, Honorary member of the M&M Fire Dept., and retired Morgan County Fair Board. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Janet Matheney White of Malta, two sons, Dale White of Sumter South Carolina, and Gerald "Jerry" (Melanie) White Jr. of Salisbury Maryland, two daughters, Debbie (Mike) Sebach of Salisbury Maryland and Rita (Isaac Raver) Harris of Malta, two brothers, Richard and Charles White both of Zanesville, one sister, Nelda Dingey of Zanesville, eight grandchildren, Kristin, Aaron, Morgan, Angela, Tony, Jordan, Noah and Cameron, and one great granddaughter, Brylee. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, George White, and two sisters, Jean Johnson and Alma Johnson. Services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 1:00p.m. at the Malta United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Bentley officiating. Burial will follow at the Malta Union Cemetery with Military services by the Morgan County Veterans. Friends may call on Thursday, November 11, 2010 from 6-8p.m. and Friday November 12, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8p.m. with Masonic services following at 8p.m. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions to be made in Jerry's name at the North Valley Bank in Malta, to establish a scholarship in his name.
