Gerry Dorris, 70, of Chesterhill, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on Feb. 27, 1949 in Glouster to the late Errett and Goldie North Dorris. He retired from Burr Oak State Lodge where he worked for almost 40 years in the maintenance Dept. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and attended the Bartlett United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Scarlett Smedley Dorris, of the home, 2 sons, Scott (Tina) Dorris of Attica and Jeffery Dorris of Buckeye Lake, a sister, Virginia Hupp of Trimble and 9 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a son Gary R. Dorris. Services will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with burial following in the Chesterhill Cemetery with Military Honors.
