Obituary

Gertrude M. Hambel, 92, of 43 N. 9th Street, McConnelsville passed away at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15,2013 at the Highland Oaks Health Center in McConnelsville.

She was born August 17,1920 in Morgan County to the late James Kincaid and Violet VanHorn Kincaid.

Gertrude was a homemaker and worked at the former Reed's Flower Shoppe. She also worked for Washington-Morgan County Community Action. She was a member of the Seventh Street Church Of Christ and volunteered at the Mark Rest Center for many years.

She is survived by a daughter, Ruth Ann Erwine; and a son, Jim (Pat) Hambel, both of McConnelsville; several grandchildren;, step-grandchildren; and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Bert Hambel; a sister, Evelyn Hoopes; and a brother, Raymond Kincaid.

Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 17, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, where a funeral and celebration of her life service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, with Evangelist Randy Baker officiating.

She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Raymond, in McConnelsville Cemetery.
