Obituary

Gladya M. Long 89, of Stockport passed away August 7, 2012 at Riverside Country Care Center. She was born July 25, 1923 in Homer Twp. the daughter of the late Elmer and Jessie Fitch Potts.

She retired July 1985 from Malta Mfg. Co. She was a member of Valley Chapter #19 OES and Ebenezer United Methodist Church. She was a 1941 graduate of Pennsville High School. Gladya is survived by her second husband, Donald D Long whom she married on March 22, 2003. She is also survived by two sons, Alan (Joyice) Childs of Athens and Phil (Teri Lynne) Childs of McConnelsville; grandsons, Jesse Childs of Ada, Oklahoma and Colton Childs of Picqua, Ohio and granddaughter, Colby Childs of Amherst, Ohio; one brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Kay Potts of Coshocton; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul H. Childs who died July 2000 and brothers, Claire, Donald, and Ralph Potts. Calling hours will be held 5-8 pm Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville, Ohio where services will be held 11:00 am on Friday, August 10 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in McConnelsville Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church or the M&M Fire Department at 77 S 4th St. McConnelsville, Ohio 43756.
