Gloria Sweeney Meranda, 70, of Malta, Died on Sat. June 21, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Hospital following a brief illness. She was born on Dec. 30, 1943 in Calcutta, India to the late Peter and Susan Smith Sweeney. She spent her life as an artist and worked for many years at Morris Hardware in McConnelsville. She is survived by 1 son, Paul Manwaring of Colwyn Bay, Whales, 1 sister, Althea (Maurice) Alberts of Long Island, NY, 1 niece, Samatha Alberts of Westhampton, NY and 1 nephew, Peter Alberts of London England. She is preceded in death by her parents, Husband, Charles Meranda and 1 son Karl Manwaring. There will be a private service for immediate family and special friends on Tuesday, July 1, 2014.
