Grace Gage, 90, a resident of Riverside Country Care Center near McConnelsville, passed away at 2:26 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011.

She was born September 14, 1920, near Elizabeth, WV, to Vinton Thayer and Ethel Baileys Alderman of the Stockport area.

Mrs. Gage was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Tabor Ridge Church of Christ and devoted herself to serving the Lord by teaching Sunday School, VBS, and adult classes in her church, faithfully reading her Bible and more importantly, living it. She was an avid gardener and thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors.

She is survived by her youngest son, Darrell (Judy) Huffman of Stockport; one daughter-in-law, Karen Huffman of McConnelsville; two grandsons, Greg (Tracie) Huffman of McConnelsville and Davey John Huffman of Mt. Juliet, TN; three granddaughters, Debbie (Tim) Wallace of Lynchburg, Jodi Huffman of Parkersburg, WV, and Karelle (Brad) Hopkins of McConnelsville; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Gage; a son, David Dale Huffman, and her eldest son, Daniel T. Huffman; two brothers, Jesse Alderman and Lawrence Alderman; and four sisters, Roxie Taylor, Anne Kapaun, Elizabeth Parsons, and Hannah Hanson.

Mrs. Gage requested no flowers with any donations to be made to Seventh Street Church of Christ, South Seventh Street, McConnelsville, OH 43756, or Tabor Ridge Church of Christ, 6727 Tabor Ridge Road, Stockport, OH 43787.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Ellis Cemetery near Stockport with Evang. Sam Bungard and Evang. Tim Wallace officiating.
