Gracie L. Hill, 82, of Chesterhill, passed away at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Genesis Hospital in Zanesville.

She was born April 12, 1933, in Athens County, to the late Benjamin Mayle and Janie Dalton Mayle.

Gracie worked as a nurse's aid at the State Hospital in Athens and at several area nursing homes for many years. She also worked at the Ballas Egg Company in Zanesville.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Wilbert Hill; a grandson, Marcus Hill of Philo; three sisters, Dorothy McKee of Zanesville, Pauline Walker of Chesterhill, and Norma Jean Butcher of Zanesville; and a brother, Ezra Mayle of Michigan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Hill and Leroy Hill; four brothers, Benny Mayle, Richard Mayle, Cutler Mayle, and Walter (Doc) Mayle.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 31, at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 1, at the Mt. Hermon Community Church, with Pastor J.R. Walker officiating.

Gracie will be laid to rest in Mt. Hermon Cemetery.
