VIENNA, WV: Guy H. "Sonny" Smith, age 65, of Vienna, WV, passed away at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at his residence. He was born on September 9, 1944 in Chesterhill, the son of the late Guy E. and Zelica Lewis Smith. He attended Bethel Wesleyan Church and was retired from the Bureau of Public Debt in Parkersburg, WV, as an IT Specialist. Surviving are his wife: Shirley Cordle Smith of the home; one son: Samuel Smith of Frankfort, Ohio; one daughter: Sarah Smith of Belpre, Ohio; one granddaughter: Emily Smith of Belpre, Ohio; one brother: Allen Mitchell Smith of Belpre, Ohio; and one sister: Ellen Tate of Belpre, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson. Services will be held at the Bethel Church near Chesterhill at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12 with the Rev. Terry Newman officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 11, from 5-8:30 p.m. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill and 1 hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be in the Mt. Hermon Cemetry, Amesville, Ohio.
