Harold W. Hensley

MCCONNELSVILLE: Harold W. Hensley, 88, of Malta passed away at 5:25 p.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his home.

He was born November 29, 1926 in Huntington, WV to the late Herbert Hensley and Flora Donahoe Hensley. He was a retired engineer for the former Gould Corp. of McConnelsville where he had worked for over 30 years. Harold was an Army veteran of W.W. II and the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post #24 of McConnelsville and the V.F.W. Post #4713 of Malta where he had served as a Past Commander. He was also a member of the McConnelsville Eagles Club and was an avid antique car collector and restorer. Harold was an avid histroy buff and loved F.D.R. and enjoyed going to the Ohio Valley Opry.

He is survived by two daughters, Becky (Jeff) Allee of Floyds Knobs, IN and Bobbi (Greg) Linker of Corydon, IN; two sons, Brent (Ginnie) Hensley of Corydon, IN and Charles (Janice) Hensley of Lakeland, FL; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Homer Hensley.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, January 20, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville and Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the Malta Bible Church in Malta where funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Wells officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post #24 Color Guard. He will be laid to rest at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, IN.
