McCONNELSVILLE - Harold Lee Murphy, 73, of Ohio 376 SE, McConnelsville, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1935, in Malta, to the late Fredie Harold Murphey and Mary E. Green Murphey. He retired from ITT Higby's in New Lexington and graduated from M&M High School in 1953. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW Post 4713 in Malta. He is survived by his wife, Olive Kirkbride Murphy of McConnelsville; two sons, Randy Murphy and Tom (Marci) Murphy of Malta; one daughter, Angela (Doug) Scott of Lexington; one brother, Richard Murphey of McConnelsville; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at the Matheney Funeral Home. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at the funeral home, with Evangelist John Wright officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery. Military services will be provided by the Morgan County Veteran Association.
