Hazel M. Hurst 76, of 1022 Echo Street Malta, passed away at 1 :30 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2012 at the Riverside Country Care Center in McConnelsville. She was born Dec. 19, 1935 in Marietta the daughter of the late Clarence Phillis and Ella Ball Phillis. She was retired from Malta Manufacturing in Malta and attended the Wolf Creek Church of Christ near Malta. She is survived by one daughter Sandra (Dee) Dille of Walhonding, Ohio and one son Richard (Sylvia) Hurst Jr. of Stockport; five grandchildren ; eight great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; one sister Mary Hart of Stockport; several brother in laws and sister in laws, and was Ma Maw to hundreds of children. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Hurst Sr. in 1991 and two brothers Roy Phillis and Frank Phillis. Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville where services will be held at 11 :00 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 with Evangelist Monty Hurst officiating.
