Henry R. Fischer, 83 of Chesterhill, died on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at 4:12 A.M. at the Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. He was born on July 28, 1928 in Wooster, Ohio to the late Ernest D. and Grace Miller Fischer. He worked as an Operating Engineer out of Local #18 and co-owned the H & H Mining Company. He attended the Chesterhill United Methodist Church, was a 62 year member of the Ebenezer Masonic Lodge #33 in Wooster and was a former fire chief of the Chesterhill Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara Davis Fischer whom he married on September 3, 1955, 3 sons, Tim (Cathy) Fischer of Spring, Texas, Tracy (Terri Marie) Fischer and Trent (Anita) Fischer both of Chesterhill, 1 sister, Freda Case of Jefferson, Ohio, 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, Tamara Leighann, 1 sister, Arvilla Fouch and 1 grandson, Heath Fischer. Services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Stone-Matheney Funeral Home in Chesterhill with Pastor Phil Thomas officiating. Friends may call on the family on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations my be made to the Chesterhill United Methodist Church or the Chesterhill Vol. Fire Dept.
