Howard N. Cox age 94 of Malta , passed away Weds. Nov. 29, 2017 at 1:10 p.m. at Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville. He was born July 6, 1923 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, a son of the late Leonard and Leona Taylor Cox. Howard was employed at Ohio Power in Beverly for 26 years as a master maintenance man. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, was a Protestant by faith, a lifetime member of the Malta VFW, a member of the American Legion in McConnelsville, an avid hunter, muzzleloader shooter, fisherman, and loved woodworking. Surviving are his wife of 43 year, Rosie Hinkle Cox of the home, 3 sons: Mike Cox of Lima, Ohio, Tim Cox of Zanesville, Ohio, and Donald Newton, 1 daughter, Jodi (Larry) Lindberg of Dover, Ohio, 6 grand children, including his Princess, Marissa Lindberg of Kent, Ohio, and several great grandchildren. Other than his parents, Howard was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Cox, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
