Hugh A. Motz, 87, of McConnelsville, passed away on Thurs, May 22, 2025 at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville.  He was born on July 4, 1937 in Hackney to the late Truman and Vera Wilson Motz.  He retired after over 30 years from Globe in Waterford and worked at Taylor Woodcraft and the Morgan Local School Dist. to keep himself busy after retirement.  He was a member of the Stockport United Methodist Church, Webb Lodge # 3856 and loved Morgan and Fort Frye Sports.  He is survived by his son, Mike (Donna) Motz of Hackney, a daughter, Tammy (David) Morrow of McConnelsville, 11 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Carolyn Adams Motz, 2 daughters, Debbie Hutchinson and Peggy Harlow, 4 brothers, Carl, Herman, James and John Motz and 4 sisters, Avanelle Medors, Eileen Hay, Opal Chapman and Aleda Cuzzins.  Services will be held on Monday, May 26, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at the McKendree Methodist Church in McConnelsville.  Friends may call on the family from 9-11 A.M. on the day of the services.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Morgan or Fort Frye Athletic Boosters.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
