Irene Dawson, 83, of McConnelsville passed away Saturday November 25, 2107 at the Genesis Hospital in Zanesville. She was born March 12, 1934 in Morgan County to the late Clyde Baker and Bella Goodwill Baker. Irene had worked as a nurse's aid at the former Parmiter Nursing Home of Malta. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (William) Moore of McConnelsville; three grandchildren, Rob (Jenny) Ellis of Stockport, Amanda Moore of Zanesville, and Dean (Elizabeth) Moore of McConnelsville; three great grandchildren, Haley and Hope Ellis  and Alexis Rauch; a daughter-in-law, Jan Ellis of McConnelsville. Also surviving is a sister, Imogene Rowland of Bethel, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Jean Baker of Pennsville and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Ellis; three brothers,Harry, Fred, and Lester Baker; and two sisters,Mary McDermott and Ida Wells. At Irene's request, no services will be held and cremation will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any charity of the donor's choice. Miller-Huck Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
