Irene J. (King) Williams, 87, of Crooksville (formerly McConnelsville), passed away on Monday March 11, 2013 at 10:12 p.m. at Genesis Morrison House (hospice) in Zanesville after a lengthy illness. Irene was born in Byesville, Ohio on October 10, 1925 to the late Chase King and Vada Mae Brown. Irene was active in various organizations including Eastern Star, garden club, member of Malta United Methodist Church and Ruth Circle of the Malta United Methodist Women. She worked at Timken Roller Bearing in Zanesville until 1960 and sold Avon products but mostly is remembered for being a devoted housewife and loved to cook for friends and family. After moving to Crooksville she made many new special friends in the Rose farm Church of Christ, where she attended until recently. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Rollie Williams and three brothers, Charles King, William (Woody) King and Dave King. Irene is survived by her children, Deborah (Steve) Willison of Groveport, Tim (Kim) Williams of Crooksville, Matt (Joni) Wiliams of Powell, step-son Ed (Linda) Williams of Zanesville and step-daughter Stephanie Kay (Jim) Knouff of Cambridge, daughter, Connie Hodgkinson (Ashtabula); 13 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. Services will be held on Friday March 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of The Gospel Ministry, 210 N. Kennebec Ave. McConnelsville, Ohio with Pastor Galen Finley officiating. Burial will follow at the Zanesville Memorial Park on Military Road. The family will receive friends on Thursday March 14, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Matheney Funeral Home, 165 N. Kennebec Ave. McConnelsville, Ohio. The family wishes to sincerely thank the many nurses and staff at the Genesis Morrison House.
