Obituary

Jake (JD) Reinstetle, 65, of Zanesville, passed on Sat, Oct. 12, 2024 at his residence after a brief bout with cancer. He was born on September 11, 1959 to Stub Reinstetle and Dixie Love (Tony) Janes.  He retired from Texas Eastern Gas Company in Somerset and was also a member of the M&M Fire Department in McConnelsville for many years.  He was a master fabricator by nature and loved tinkering on cars, dirt bikes, lawn mowers, anything with a motor.  He set the shot-put record for Morgan High School in 1977, which still stands to this day, 47 years later.  His kids were his pride and joy and Scott's career in the US Army and Jen's time at The Ohio State University only strengthened his love for his country and the Buckeyes.  He is survived by his mother Dixie Janes of Duncan Falls, his wife of 45 years, Linda Zumbro Reinstetle of the home, his daughter Jennifer (Aaron) Rapp of Westerville, his son Scott Reinstetle of Zanesville, three brothers, Dan (Norma) Reinstetle and Kyle (Tara Lee) Janes, both of Zanesville, and John (Ginger) Reinstetle of Hazard, Kentucky, and one sister Lori (Bob) Brenizer of Hunstville, Alabama.  He is preceded in death by his fathers Stub Reinstetle and Tony Janes.  A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:00 PM at Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville.  Friends may call on the family from 4-6 PM.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
