Obituary

James E. Smith, 86, of 4512 N. St. Rt. 376, McConnelsville, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at Genesis Morrison House in Zanesville.

He was born November 9, 1926 in Marietta, a son of the late Jay Ray Smith and Clara Stephan Smith.

He was a sheet metal worker and a graduate of M-M High School, as well as Hocking College. He was an Army Veteran of WW II, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in McConnelsville.

He is survived by a niece, Bronda (Mark) Kaschmitter of Ogden, Utah; a nephew, Brentley Smith of Ogden, Utah; one niece, Anita; and two nephews, Roger and Doug.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Weinberg; and one brother, Richard Allen Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at the First Presbyterian Church in McConnelsville, with Rev. Barbara Morrison and Rev. Richard Beidler officiating. Burial will be at a later date in McConnelsville Cemetery.
