James Kenneth "J. K." Cordray, 51, of 355 S. 14th St., McConnelsville, passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 6:20 p.m. at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville.

He was born September 30, 1958 in Beverly to the late James Leroy Cordray and Marilyn Lee Riley Cordray. J. K. was a 1976 graduate of Morgan High School and also a 1976 graduate of the Knotts Auctioneering School. He obtained his auctioneer license in 1976. He was the owner and operator of Cordray's Auction Service in McConnelsville and served the community with several auctions and benefit auctions for over 30 years. J. K. was a member of the Sons Of The American Legion, the Eagles Lodge #2187 of McConnelsville, the Trinity United Methodist Church in McConnelsville. He was also an avid hunter and golfer.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Regena Bailey Cordray; three sons, Jacob (Jessica) Cordray of Pennsville, Joshua Cordray and Jebidiah Cordray both of McConnelsville; a sister, Patti Jean (Fred) Fluharty of McConnelsville; a brother, Eric Cordray of McConnelsville; three grandchildren, Kylee, Karrissa, and Jada Rae Cordray; an aunt, Patricia Smith of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve Cordray.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Miller-Huck Funeral Home in McConnelsville. At J. K.'s request a caring cremation has taken place.
