James Alfred Piatt (Jim), born July 1, 1935, Passed away on Fri. Aug. 21, 2020 at the Arbors Nursing Home in Marietta.  He lived in Chesterhill most of his life growing up.  He worked in law enforcement for several years and was also a truck driver.  He was a member of the U.S. Marines from 1954 to 1961.  He is survived by 2 brothers, Mike (Jean) Piatt and Gary (Lisa) Piatt, a sister Nancy Hoel, a daughter, Patty Piatt, 2 sons, James (Linda) Piatt and Marcus (Jessica) Piatt and several grand and great grandchildren.  A caring cremation is taking place at the family's request.  Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
