James Albert Porter, 65, of Waterford, died on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 9, 1949 in Stockport, Ohio to Chester and Iola White Porter. He owned and operated Jim's Welding and Repair in Waterford. He was a member of the 5th Street Church Of Christ in Beverly and enjoyed farming, gardening, tractors and loved spending time with his grand kids. He is survived by his mother, Iola Porter of McConnelsville, wife, Katherine Kincaid Porter of the home, a son Allen (Danielle) Porter of Waterford, a daughter, Debra (Jerry) Snavely of Mt. Gilead, a brother, Brad (Diana) Porter of Stockport and 6 grandchildren, Levi, Wyatt, Regan, Whitney, Jordyn and Michaela. He is preceded in death by his father, a brother, Larry Porter and a sister Dianna Wood. Services will be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the 5th Street Church Of Christ in Beverly with Evang. Zack Waite officiating. Friends may call on the family on Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 2-6 P.M. at the Church. Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Marietta Home Health Hospice 450 Pike Street Marietta, Ohio 45750.
