View a Video Memorial Janet May Raines, 84 of Stockport, died on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at 7:00 A.M. at the Highland Oaks Nursing Home in McConnelsville. She was born on August 6, 1928 in New Concord to the late Howard T. and Gladys A. Hess Davis. She was a 1946 graduate of Belle Valley High School and continued her education by graduating from the Meredith Business College in Zanesville in 1948. She worked in the insurance business with Konst Insurance Company in Canton, Ohio and John Swartz Insurance Company in Zanesville. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet and Stockport United Methodist Church, East Windsor Farmerette Club since 1955, Eagles Auxiliary, an associate member of the United Mine Workers and was a long time East Windsor Morgan County Herald correspondent. She is survived by 2 sons, Bobby Raines of Newark, and Carl (Kathy) Raines of Stockport, 3 daughters, Christy Raines of Stockport, Carol (Jerry) Gasho of Yellow Springs, Ohio, and Mary (Brian) Gifford of Gahanna, 1 brother, Harley (Alberta) Davis of Stockport, 11 grandchildren, Ryan Raines, Amy Leemaster, Ben Leemaster, Nathan Raines, Joe Catanzaro, Justin Gifford, Megan Gifford, Stacy Douglas, Andy Colvin, Doug Gasho and Marty Gasho and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Losia Stout Davis, husband, Clarence Ray Raines, 1 daughter, Linda Catanzaro and 1 sister, Vera Martin. Services will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Malta Cemetery. Friends may call on the family on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 5-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mt.
