Janet S. White, 85, of Malta, passed away on Mon, Oct. 30, 2023 at her residence.  She was born on Oct. 11, 1938 in Malta, Ohio to the late Edgar and Lola Williams Matheney.  She worked as a secretary and was the assistant Commissioner for the Morgan County Common Pleas Court.  She was a member of the Malta United Methodist Church, the VFW 4713 Auxiliary where she was the past president and served on several national committees, the American Legion Post 24 Auxiliary, OES Valley Chapter and was the past president of the Morgan Athletic Boosters.  She is survived by 2 sons, Dale White of Delmar, Maryland and Jerry (Melanie) White Jr. of Salisbury Maryland, 2 daughters, Debra (Mike) Sebach of Salisbury, Maryland and Rita Harris of Malta, 2 sisters, Lois Davis of Flagstaff, Arizonia and Joan Thomas of New Lexington, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald "Jerry" White, a brother, Wayne Matheney and a sister, Leatha Ortega.   Services will be held on Tues, Nov. 7, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Malta Cemetery.  Friends may call on the family on Mon, Nov. 6 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the White Sebach Family Scholarship benefiting high school students at 1324 Belmont Ave. Suite 401 Salisbury, MD 21804 or to the Shriver's Hospice Foundation.  To send a note of condolence to the family go to www.matheneyfh.com.
