MCCONELSVILLE - Jay L. Nesselroad, 65, of McConnelsville, died at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born Nov. 10, 1943, in McConnelsville to the late Kenneth E. and Helen L. Parks Nesselroad. He retired in 2003 as a maintenance production superintendent from American Electric Power Muskingum River Plant after 36 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a life member and past commander of the American Legion Post 24 in McConnelsville. He was also a member of the Morgan County Honor Guard, lifetime member of the M&M Jaycee's and a JCI Senator 27113. He owned and operated K.E. Nesselroad Fire Equipment Co. in McConnelsville and proudly served as a city councilman for the Village of McConnelsville until his death. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Donna S. Nesselroad, whom he married on Aug. 7, 1966, at South Zanesville United Methodist Church; a son, Aaron L. (Diana) Nesselroad of Beverly; a daughter, Tricia K. Nesselroad of McConnelsville; a brother, Lloyd Nesselroad of Waterford; a sister, Jane Drake of Indianapolis, Ind.; and three grandchildren, Zack, Bailey and Kinsey of Beverly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Dana, Max and Dick; and a sister, Elaine Clymer. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 27, at the Matheney Funeral Home, McConnelsville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009, at the funeral home with the Rev. Jennifer Johnston-Baker officiating. Interment will be in Sharon Cemetery. Veteran services will be provided by Morgan County Veterans Association.
