Jean E. McDonald, 63, of Malta, passed away at the O'Bleness Hospital in Athens, Ohio on Sun. June 24, 2018. She was born on Sept. 22, 1954 in Zanesville to the late Floyd and Dorothy Buchanan Spencer. She worked as an administrator at the Starlight Program in Zanesville. She was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ, O.E.S. # 19 where she was the past Worthy Matron, the nation Beagle Club and the past president of the Morgan County Lady Shrine Club. She is survived by her husband Joie McDonald of the home, a daughter, Tarah Barkhurst of Columbus, 5 sons, Joie , James, John, Jeff McDonald all of Glouster and Scott McDonald of Kentucky, 4 siblings, Pat (David) Bailey of McConnelsville, Gary (Connie) Spencer of McConnelsville, Sandra Caudill of McConnelsville and Marlene Bolyard of Monticello, Fl, 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rodney Spencer. Services will be held on Sat. June 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville with burial following in the Malta Cemetery.
