John L. Coakley, 76 of Malta, formerly of Logan, died on Weds. June 24, 2015 at his residence. He was born on Oct. 19, 1938 in Logan, Ohio to the late Louie and Myrtle Powers Coakley. He worked and helped maintain Camp Akita in Logan. He attended the Eagle Port Church near Malta. He loved hunting, fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He truly loved living on The Muskingum River. He is survived by 2 sons, Todd (Tammy) Coakley of Hazel Park, Michigan and John (Jodie) Coakley of Logan, 1 daughter, Vanessa (Randy) Ogg of Stoutsville, 1 brother, Richard Coakley of Portersville, 1 sister, Jeanie Davis of Ilesboro, Ohio, and several grand and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date and time.
