John Leroy Coplan III, 63 of Columbus, died Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Zanesville. He was born on September 13, 1947 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late John L. and Norma M. Eal Coplan. He was a welder for the Buckeye Steel Company in Columbus for 34 years. He is survived by his wife of 44 years Delberta Diane Dixon Coplan of Columbus, three sons, John (Jill) Coplan IV of Columbus, Joseph D. (Jodi) Coplan of Columbus, and Jeffrey L (Cheri) Coplan of Columbus, one daughter, June M. Coplan of Columbus, five Granddaughters, Alexandria, Jayla, Janey, Alyssa and Briana. He is preceded in death by his parents. A caring cremation is taking place at his request. Matheney Funeral Home in McConnelsville is handling the arrangements.
